Hidden features and custom user styles being uncovered at QY Explorer can easily be loaded on to your Yamaha QY100. Here’s how to do it.

What you need:

  1. Yamaha QY100 Music Sequencer
  2. Computer
  3. A MIDI-USB connection between your QY100 and computer, or MIDI interface
  4. A program like SysEx Librarian (Mac) or MIDI SysEx Transfer Utility (Windows)

Steps for loading .Q1P file on to Yamaha QY100:

Step 1 – Download a .syx file (like the one found here).

Step 2 – Connect the QY100 to your computer using either a MIDI-USB cable, or MIDI interface.

Step 3 – Navigate to an empty user slot (U01-U64) in Pattern Mode.

Step 4 – On your computer, use a program like SysEx Librarian (Mac) or MIDI SysEx Transfer Utility (Windows) to send the .syx file to the device via the connected MIDI cable.

Step 5 – The QY100 will display a loading screen while the .syx file transfers over, then the style is ready to use.
